Following far to many mince pies and the new year festivities, we are pleased to announce that Picks Cottage Fishery will open its gates on Monday 5th February 2018.
FISHERY OPEN 07:30-19:30 7 DAYS A WEEK FROM 05/02/18
The decision has been made to keep the Match Lake and Float Pond closed until further notice, however all other lakes will remain open. The Match Lake and Float Pond are currently protected by predator lines whilst Cormorants still pose a threat to fish under 4lbs. Cormorants are a fish eating bird which primarily predate the lakes through the winter months. Due to the recent stocking of small carp and bream in these waters (see video below), we will continue to protect our stock from predation temporarily. We expect to open these lakes by the beginning of March '18.
In addition, anglers will also be pleased to hear that the fishery opening hours have been extended this year. The fishery will now be open Mon-Sun 07:30 to 19:30. The additional evening hours should hopefully provide some extra entertainment for those hoping to fish in the evening or overnight after work.
